# YouTube Translate

Public YouTube transcripts, translations, summaries, subtitles, and literal search.
MCP: https://api.youtubetranslate.com/mcp (OAuth or account-owned X-API-Key).

Agent onboarding:
1. Read https://api.youtubetranslate.com/terms and https://api.youtubetranslate.com/privacy.
2. POST https://api.youtubetranslate.com/api/accounts with JSON {"accept_terms":true}. Store the returned api_key securely. No free processing credits are issued.
3. Send X-API-Key on subsequent API calls. GET /api/account shows balance and mode.
4. POST /api/billing/checkouts with {"pack":"starter"} and an Idempotency-Key header. The $1 pack is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Give checkout_url to the payer to authorize Link. Never collect payment credentials in chat.
5. Credit arrives only after verified Stripe fulfillment. Poll GET /api/account, not the checkout redirect.
6. POST /api/processing/quote with operation transcribe and url, or operation translate/summarize plus video_id and language/length.
7. Submit POST /api/videos {"url":"...","max_credit_units":N}; POST /api/videos/:id/translate {"language":"es","max_credit_units":N}; or POST /api/videos/:id/summarize {"language":"en","length":"short","max_credit_units":N}. Use the quoted maximum and obtain approval before spending. An Idempotency-Key prevents duplicate requests.
8. Poll the returned job_id via GET /api/jobs/:id. Retrieve GET /api/videos/:id/transcript, /transcript/:language, or /summary?language=en&length=short.

A cached artifact read is $0.002 (2,000 microcredits). Two demo videos are free. Uncached transcription is $0.01 per started minute, translation $0.002 per 1,000 input characters, and summary $0.005 per 1,000 input characters. Quotes are microcredits (1,000,000 = $1). Max 30-minute source and 100,000 input characters.
A payer must authorize Link payment. No automatic recharge or autonomous access to the payer's wallet is implied.
